Presentation
José Luciano de Castro (1834-1914) was born in Oliveirinha (Aveiro) and settled in Anadia, where he married the daughter of the lawyer Alexandre Ferreira de Seabra.
He was the leader of the Portuguese Progressive Party and a remarkable statesman of the liberal monarchy, having received many celebrities from Portuguese politics in his home.
