Nova Casa dos Leitões Restaurant is a family company established in the sixties and was one of the first restaurants serving suckling pig, in the heart of Bairrada. Besides Bairrada roasted suckling pig, you could and still can also taste other regional dishes, such as, ?arroz de molho pardo?; chicken black rice, ?feijoada? a rich pork bean stew, ?chanfana?; goat or mutton in a wine sauce, baked in black clay oven-ware and ?bacalhau assado no forno? roast cod fish. Furthermore, in a small cellar at the back of the premises, the wines for the restaurant were made and this cellar later became the Adega da Quinta da Mata Fidalga.
With an unique cooking technique, Nova Casa dos Leitões also assures rigorous quality control at every stage in the preparation of the suckling pig: from slaughter, roasters, preparation, seasoning and oven time. We also carefully select the best local ingredients in order to promote good health.
However, despite our commitment to stay true to the origins of a region with a recognized reputation in gastronomy, this restaurant stands out for promoting other menus and proposing complementary dishes. Besides full meals, Nova Casa dos Leitões also offers our very famous and popular suckling pig sandwiches in our take-away service.
We also provide a different, recently renovated space, the Adega, which is very popular for meetings and other events.
We have been provided several catering companies from all over the country with our suckling pig.
In order to guarantee the satisfaction and the loyalty of our customers, we chose to have our own slaughterhouse.
And because we know that excellent suckling pig must be served with an excellent sparkling wine, we have also started producing our own wine. This is why we established the company and respective wine brand "Quinta da Mata Fidalga".
