The Ria de Aveiro, the ?open door? to the Ocean and its close bond with the sea have always strongly influenced the city of Aveiro. When you talk of the Ria de Aveiro, of its salt and saltpans, seaweed and moliceiro boats, with their ornamented prows and sterns, bringing life and vivid colour, you are talking about the city. In this region we can enjoy a host of magnificent landscapes, namely, in one of the most unique places of the Aveiro Region: S. Jacinto.
The best beach of the Municipality of Aveiro is in S. Jacinto, with a long sandy beach, fully equipped with changing rooms, beach facilities (cafe) and access for people with physical disabilities or reduced mobility.
How to get there: S. Jacinto?s is bordered in the east by the Ria, in the west by the Atlantic Ocean and in the North by the Dunes of the São Jacinto Natural Reserve. This location gives it unique characteristics, because, in order to get there, you have to take a bus to Forte da Barra followed by a wonderful crossing of the Ria de Aveiro on a motorboat or ferryboat (on which you can also take your car).
One of the charming places of Aveiro is its beach, a great place to rest and to enjoy relaxed holidays, in every season of the year. S. Jacinto Beach is one the most famous beaches of the Portuguese coast.
