On one side, the hills of São Lourenço do Bairro and Paredes do Bairro with the highlight to Quinta do Encontro and Campolargo; on the other side, the vineyards of Óis do Bairro and Outeiro de Baixo with the highlight to Serra do Buçaco and Caramulo; between these two great landscapes, there is Moinho da Eira, right next to Maria Gomes. Its name derives from one of the most predominant grape varieties in the Bairrada territory. Actually, the name Maria Gomes, adopted in Bairrada, is no more and no less than Fernão Pires, a white grape variety.
